Witches' Dance by Paganini

It's a few weeks late, but this was my sweet girl's solo at our December recital.  After our last couple of practice sessions, I need a reminder as to why we do this, day in and day out.  I was telling my husband this morning that sometimes it pays to have a kid that cares about playing notes exactly in tune and perfect. ( i.e. recital time).  It's the tricky before school practice times where I have to remind her "it's okay to mess up" and "you are going to probably play some wrong notes.....that's great!"  Huh?  It's like I have to prep her for every emotion she is going to feel and hope she gives herself a break.

This too shall pass, right?  It makes for a beautiful Witches' Dance, though.

I will not cry next time, I will not cry next time

I become a blubbering speaker at my students' recitals and inevitably end up crying.  Yesterday was no exception. All of my kiddos played so well and I'm once again bursting with pride.  This time a certain little four year old made his debut with the Reindeer Stomp Song and the Monkey Song.  They were both squeaky and precious.
