Drowning...

In a sea of STUFF. After sweating profusely out in my garage all day getting ready for our first garage sale ever, I am thinking of becoming amish. Give me a couple of frocks to wear and socks to darn any day. I have TONS of girl baby and toddler clothes infant to 3 years, some boy clothes, girls' shoes, baby gear...I could go on and on. Just imagine all of the stuff you accumulate between two kids over four years. All I can say is I shopped entirely too much when I only had one baby.

Come on over - tomorrow or Saturday.

Oh, Obama.

One of the many reasons I will be voting for John McCain.

Memorial Day

A few highlights from today:

Our pet turtle Tuck came out of hibernation and made his presence known.

Raegan finally found the courage to wrap her arms around Gabe. Our matchmaking endeavors are taking shape nicely.

Remembering how to swim...with floaties blown up so much they almost exploded.

Eating ice cream at my parents.

Forget the toys...I have rocks. (And random leg grab from Erick)

We're baaaack

Two guesses where we ended up:

Father-son bonding moment assembling utility cart. Overheard: "Greyson, if you don't respect your tools, they aren't going to respect you." Uh, not exactly sure what that means.

$10 duvet cover and two pillowcases. I don't plan on washing it for fear it may fall apart in the wash, but hey, it's cute and was so cheap.

Let me think about it...

Raegan just informed me that Erick and I can't stay at Grandma's house: only she and Greyson can. Hmmmm....that's a tough one. As much as I would love to jump on the trampoline 23 out of 24 hours, pet random stray cats, watch Barney videos, eat tons of chocolate and cookies (wait...), play inside the 100 degree RV, play in the bathtub so long my skin becomes wrinkled and pruny, pet random stray dogs, and play/fight with cousin Katie all weekend....I may take a pass. See you in a few days, my dearies. ;)

So long, farewell, it's time to go see Grandma

I can barely contain my excitement. Our anniversary is this weekend, and the kids are going to Grandma's!!!!! Erick's mom's house is right on the way to Dallas, and makes for a convenient drop-off. We won't have a lot of glamorous anniversary stories to tell the kids someday, because the Big D is always our destination. But at least we always know EVERY possible thing to do in the Metroplex on Memorial Day weekend. Erick will be happiest if we can watch 12 movies and eat out 6 times, and I'm just begging for a one way ticket to IKEA. We'll see.

Armpits and bellies

Raegan has a few friends (who are siblings) coming over in the morning to play. One of them is a BOY that she LIKES. She just got out of bed to inform me that she can't tickle him at church (as they found out last Wednesday night), but she can tickle him at her house. "Mom, I'm not going to tickle any other parts of his bodies. Just his armpits and bellies." Whew. I can rest a little easier. A LITTLE.

I love Mother's Day

I love that I was awakened by Raegan with a whine and several swats in the air.
I love that I had to rewind a 'Little Bill' episode about Mother's Day just to remind Erick that is was Mother's Day.
I love that when he heard the key words 'Mother's Day' come out of Little Bill's mouth, he asked Raegan if she had told me Happy Mother's Day. (To which she replied No!!!)
I love that he disappeared into the bathroom with a sharpie and a piece of paper and emerged with this.

I love that Raegan grabbed the card to give to me, accidentaly wrinkled it, and the inevitable meltdown ensued.
I love that later in the day, Erick had 'a couple of errands to run.'
I love that his errand involved going to Hobby Lobby to get a lamp that I had hinted about.
I love that that Hobby Lobby is closed on Sunday, and he had actually meant to go on Saturday.
I just loved that he had thought of me and meant to do something. (And I got not one lamp, but two on Monday).

These are the Mother's Days I will cherish.

Jeff and Dita

Well, my little brother got married about 6 hours ago. Jeff and Candita had a beautiful wedding, and made the sweetest couple ever. Self tanning products worked like a dream, my kids successfully made it down the aisle without having a single meltdown, and I actually got to have a few adult conversations in the process. I couldn't have asked for a better evening. Oh yeah, and I love my sister-in-law. Always a plus. I can't sleep, so I thought I would post a COUPLE of pictures. ;)

"Red rum...red rum..."

I hope I never see this standing over my bed while I sleep....

'It's just like, it's just like, a mini...molar."

This video is the only thing that made my teething one year old happy all day. Greyson LOVES this guy.

Happy birthday baby girl

Raegan turns 4 tomorrow. Where the time went, I have no idea. All day I have been feeling so emotional about my baby getting so big. I love that little girl more than I ever imagined I could love someone. She is so caring, happy, emotional ;) , loving, and precious. I cherish every joy and heartache she has ever given me. She is truly my little angel.

Here are some pictures from our first official 'friend' birthday party:
