Tagged

Okay, I have been tagged by Summer and Suzanne. I don't want to list all of the rules, but here are 5 things you may or may not know about me:

1. I am never tired of Indian food, and have been known to cram as much as I can possibly muster into the to- go styrofoam box from the lunch buffet at Ajanta.

2. I rub my feet together while I drift off to sleep.

3. I had a role in the movie 'Possums,' only to have my one line cut because they figured out I couldn't act. At least 'violin girl' made it into a couple of scenes.

4. I only touch elevator buttons with my second finger knuckle (Always the same finger, don't know why).

5. Love coffee so much, I will only stop drinking it when I begin to shake.

Let's see, I tag Katie, Michelle, Lisa, Sarah, and Heather.

Must get out......

This blog title is meant to sound desperate, perhaps even robotic. I have got to get out of this house. I have forgotten what it is like to get in a car, start an engine, and go anyplace other than my own living room. Raegan and Greyson have been sick for days, and I am in agreement with my friend Summer that it is officially time to go into seclusion. I guess we have already started that, though.

We're going to join the throngs of other mothers and virus-infected children at Dr. Stephen's in a few hours. I hesitate to step foot in a Doctor's office this time of year. It's a dangerous place to be. (super germ microcosm) Raegan seems to be excited to be going somewhere, fever and all. She's a little obsessed with Dr. Stephen's nurse. She has been grilling me all morning about what nurses do, what Cathy looks like, what color her hair is, and whether or not she has a big head. To which I responded, "I have no idea." Followed immediately by the question, "Mommy, does Cathy look like you?" I think Cathy is beautiful, but I don't know that this is a compliment, considering the big head question.

You know you have kids if......

Your laundry has been on the floor so long the dog has decided to take up residence.

Is that a carrot?

Fettucini-encrusted high chair from last night's dinner, and dog bed (a.k.a laundry pile) has been stacked into laundry baskets in desperate attempt to hide mess from students and parents. I'm sure they were fooled.

I used to look like.....

I can't believe I'm putting these pictures on here. Erick thinks they are the funniest pictures ever. He usually keeps them safe in a folder on our computer entitled "I used to look like." Every now and then he opens it and enjoys a good laugh at my expense. My excuse is no make-up and bad glasses. I guess his is the fact that he hadn't yet discovered eyebrow wax or hair gel. :)

Bottle brush

Baby toy

Dog toy

As far as Greyson and Winnie are concerned, this is the greatest "toy" ever invented. I don't know why I even try to go to Pets Mart or Toys R Us.

Sweet moment

Outpouring of affection from parents following 'the moment'.

So in between the really difficult times that inevitably come with raising a 3 3/4 year old, there are some occasional endearing moments. On the way home from a practice at church, Raegan started asking me about being baptized and going under water. I had no idea where this was coming from, so I asked her who taught her about that. She said, "Well Daddy, actually." They have been reading her Bible every night before bed. After telling me all about being baptized and not wanting to go under water, here was her final conclusion on the subject. "Mama, if I don't get baptized, Jesus might be sad. So I better do it. I better go under water. And I might see FISHES under there!!! I might see twenty-thousand!"

I love these moments. Maybe I won't make her leave the house to go to Lowe's with Daddy after all.

Little boy

The reason I know you're my son - You are as obsessed with the central vacuum as I am.

The reason I know you're your Daddy's son - You are the messiest and happiest baby in the world.

Happy Birthday Adam

As I was thinking about today and everything going on, I realized it is Adam Langford's birthday. Adam died in a car accident in Africa a year ago next week, and was a close friend to so many. I just wanted to remember him today, and to thank him for his time here on Earth. He blessed my life beyond measure, and truly was a friend. Adam, you inspire me daily to walk with God, and are influencing my spiritual life in a way I never imagined. Those who called ourselves your friends will NEVER forget you.

As you read this, please say a prayer for Terry (Adam's dad) and Ben (Adam's brother). Terry has found out he has prostate cancer and gets out of the hospital today. In addition, Ben is struggling with remembering what happened almost a year ago, and is dealing with missing Adam. We all are.
